Norfolk, Virginia, city attorney charged with DUI

The Norfolk, Virginia top city attorney is facing drunk driving charges after he was stopped and arrested by a Virginia state trooper at about 8:30 p.m. The defendant was also charged with a firearms infraction and stated that he planned to contest the pending charges.

Motorist facing DUI charges in fatal crash

A 52-year-old male motorist is facing drunk driving charges as well as an accusation of aggravated involuntary manslaughter in connection with an accident that resulted in the death of a couple who were residents of Ashburn, Virginia. The couple was riding together on a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the early hours of a Sunday morning when they were hit by the motorist, who was driving a BMW sedan.

In a trial of two ex-Culpepper County, Virginia, public school workers, one was found guilty of assault charges arising out of an incident involving a 5-year-old autistic male student on a school bus. The second defendant was found not guilty of a verbal and physical assault on the kindergarten student.

Two men get 17 year prison sentences for theft

Convictions for the theft of prescription medicine from a pharmacy located in Boones Mill, Virginia, has resulted in 17-year prison sentences being meted out to two men. The defendants, a 31-year-old resident of Raven and a 29-year-old resident of Richlands, entered guilty pleas to a number of charges.
